After joining the WTO, China has gradually expanded the scope of foreign investment. In order to suit this new situation, China International Investment Promotion Agency (hereinafter as CIIPA) will launch a brand-new ¡°OFFICE IN BEIJING¡± service¡­¡­


    The Third Forum on International Investment Promotion
 


With regards to introduce and extend theory and practice of international investment promotion, strengthen cooperation among Chinese and foreign IPAs and relevant international organizations, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China, China Council for International Investment Promotion (CCIIP) and relevant international organizations will jointly host the ¡°International Investment Promotion Forum¡±. The forum, as one of the flagship events organized by CCIIP, discusses hotspot topic of investment promotion at each session, which is held irregularly with sponsorship of an approved candidate of local government.

The Forum will unite government delegates, senior officials from UNCTAD, UNIDO, OECD, World Bank and other organizations, as well as heads of Chinese and foreign IPAs, world acclaimed economists and researchers, and senior executives of transnational corporations to exchange views and ideas on Chinese Investment Promotion and to explore major issues in this field.

The Third Forum of International Investment Promotion will be co-organized by MOFCOM, Sichuan Provincial Government, CCIIP, UNCTAD, UNIDO, and WAIPA and is scheduled to be held on July 26-27, 2006 in Chengdu .

The Forum will be highlighted by the theme of ¡°Develop Service Outsourcing and Promote Information Industry¡±, which works in tune with MOFCOM's planning on service outsourcing. The plan includes the task of ¡°introduce 100 TNCs with service outsourcing business, cultivate 1000 enterprises of service provider, and establish 10 bases to subcontract foreign outsource service.

The Forum will be divided into three parts which are respectively trend of current service outsourcing business, analysis of Chinese service outsourcing market, and a specialized symposium. In the first part, the organizers will invite the ministerial officials of MOFCOM, delegates from UNCTAD, UNIDO, OECD and other international organizations to discuss development trends of world service outsource business. In the second part, delegates from relevant government departments, economic development zones, world renowned consulting companies and TNCs will explore issues of Chinese outsource service market. As for the symposium, the organizers will make an effort to provide a platform for view exchanges between outsource service providers and clients, and the symposium will also introduce a number of major projects of outsource service.
